Job Summary
Conduct laboratory testing procedures in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, blood bank, coagulation, and urinalysis to support patient care at a Military Treatment Facility in Misawa, Japan. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while performing specimen collection, processing, and storage. Ensure accurate analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results, and document activities in electronic systems. Follow quality assurance protocols, infection prevention standards, and HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers and participate in audits, inspections, and continuing education. Maintain inventory accountability and meet government medical and credentialing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
- Current certification as an MLS or MT through ASCP or equivalent certification agency
- Current, valid, unrestricted licensure or certification as required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Ability to meet Government medical, credentialing, and installation access requirements
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
