Job Summary
Lead CLIA laboratories in MA and NC as Medical Laboratory Director, overseeing regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, NY CLEP), quality assurance, interpretation of test results, and consultation with physicians; provide clinical guidance, ensure timely accurate results, manage personnel and budgets, and drive process improvements through collaboration with Laboratory Operations and other functions.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (chemistry, biology, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology)
- M.D., D.O., or M.D. with eligibility to hold valid Massachusetts and North Carolina medical licenses
- ABP certifications in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology (preferred)
- ABP certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology (preferred)
- Eligibility to hold NYSDH Certificate of Qualification in Oncology, Molecular and Cellular Tumor Markers (preferred)
- At least 10 years in a high-complexity CLIA laboratory focused in molecular diagnostics, including 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong leadership, communication, and personnel-management skills
- Ability to collaborate across functions and with treating physicians and patients
- Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, NY State DOH regulations
- Experience with budgeting, staff scheduling, and utilization management
- Ability to implement continuous process improvements
- HIPAA compliance familiarity
