Job Summary
Performs venipuncture and capillary collection and other miscellaneous specimens; processes specimens to support clinical lab testing; conducts waived laboratory testing per accreditation/licensure; participates in training of new employees, students, and other personnel; emphasizes patient safety and quality in specimen handling; shift rotations include Day/Eve with United States location; education requirements include MLA program graduate or completion of internal MLA training within 1 year of hire; preferred ASCP certification and knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from Medical Laboratory Assistant Program OR Completes an internal Medical Laboratory Assistant training program within 1 year of hire
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators’ license
- Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant ASCP certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills
- Educations/licensure requirements per state licensure standards
