Job Summary
Accession patient reports, prepare conference cases, and manage scheduling for pathologists while handling incoming and outgoing non-hazardous materials. Collect specimens via venipuncture or skin puncture, process samples according to testing requirements, and perform applicable laboratory tests. Respond to fax requests, assist providers over the phone, and file non-hazardous patient materials. Adhere to Essentia Health rules and policies to ensure safety, quality, and accreditation standards. This day rotation role supports the Pathology office within the Laboratory Department at St Marys Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from Medical Laboratory Assistant Program OR Completes an internal Medical Laboratory Assistant training program within 1 year of hire
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators' license
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills
- FTE: 1

Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification
