Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Assistant will perform pre-analytical and post-analytical tasks, collect specimens via venipuncture or capillary puncture, handle and process specimens, and perform waived lab testing in compliance with accreditation and licensure standards. The role includes training responsibilities, adherence to safety policies, and support for clinical laboratory testing within Essentia Health Laboratories. Required Qualifications
- Graduate from Medical Laboratory Assistant Program OR Completes an internal Medical Laboratory Assistant training program within 1 year of hire
- Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant ASCP certification
- Recent specimen preparation and processing experience
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators’ license
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills
- Licensure/Certification Qualifications
