Job Summary
Collect specimens through venipuncture or capillary skin puncture and process them according to testing requirements to support clinical laboratory testing. Perform waived lab testing following accreditation agency and state licensure standards while promoting patient safety. Participate in training new employees, students, and other personnel as appropriate. Adhere to Essentia Health rules and policies when handling specimens and equipment to ensure safety and quality. This role includes day/eve rotation with weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from Medical Laboratory Assistant Program OR Completes an internal Medical Laboratory Assistant training program within 1 year of hire
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators' license
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Basic computer skills
