Job Summary
Youth Apprentice – Laboratory will assist laboratory care team members under supervision. Duties may include customer service, accessioning, and pre-analytic specimen preparation. Position supports ongoing participation in the MUSC Health Midlands Medical Laboratory Assistant Apprenticeship Program and requires current high school enrollment with dual enrollment at Midlands Technical College; completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through MUSC Health Midlands to function as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word) are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in High School as a rising Junior required; must be dually enrolled in Midlands Technical College; continued participation in MUSC Health Midlands Medical Laboratory Assistant Apprenticeship Program; completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through MUSC Health Midlands to function as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant.
- Experience: Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.).
