Job Summary
Perform and document test results, quality control, and maintenance procedures while troubleshooting instruments as needed. Oversee assigned testing areas, prepare monthly quality summary reports, and coordinate service visits. Evaluate technical procedures, ensure regulatory compliance with agencies like TJC, FDA, and CAP, and mentor laboratory staff on competency and policies. Interact with physicians, patients, and volunteers regarding specimens and orders, while supporting intradepartmental cohesiveness and promoting safety and cost efficiency. Participate in mock inspections and the interview process for applicants. Evening shift with rotating weekends required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a biological science
- Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified CLS (ASCP), or Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International) CM, or Cytotechnologist CT (ASCP)
- Two (2) years of pertinent experience in a high complexity laboratory
- Completion of Senior Medical Technologist skills competency within one year of accepting this position
- Schedule: Evening shift including rotating weekends
