Job Summary
The Medical Technologist is responsible for conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, and other body fluids, as well as analyzing blood cells and preparing blood products for transfusion. Responsibilities include determining normal and abnormal components of blood, preparing blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusion, and ensuring proper operation of laboratory analyzers. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, NYS licensure as a Medical Technologist, and 1-2 years of relevant hospital laboratory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from a school approved by NYSED
- NYS Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Technologist
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital-based clinical laboratory
