Job Summary
Perform routine hematology laboratory testing and analyses in accordance with established SOPs and regulatory guidelines. Document analytical procedures, evaluate results against quality expectations, and escalate deviations to senior personnel. Maintain, calibrate, and document laboratory equipment while preparing buffers and solutions required for testing activities. Support training of new staff, implement process improvements, and manage inventory. Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure safety and operational excellence. Schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday from 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM. Base pay ranges from $42,700 to $89,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some CAP/CLIA laboratory locations may require a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology
- 6 months experience in a regulated laboratory environment
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) License (Required)
- Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques and experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, and hazardous chemical handling practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory testing and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Effective collaboration and communication skills when working with internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to perform routine and non-routine laboratory calculations, including quality control metrics and statistical measures
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints)
- Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
- Occasional exposure to cold temperatures
- Schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM
