Job Summary
The Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist is responsible for accurately processing, analyzing, and reporting laboratory results with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. Responsibilities include quality control monitoring, computer application usage, instrumentation troubleshooting, and specimen collection and processing. Candidates must possess an Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program or related field for MLT roles and must have MT/MLS qualifications along with ASCP certification for Medical Technologist roles.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program or related field
- ASCP certification
- Already functioning as a MLT within HVHS (Grandfathered) as of June 2004
- MT/MLS with ASCP certification
- Already functioning as an MT within HVHS (Grandfathered) as of June 2004
- Certified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT)
Desired Qualifications
- MLT (ASCP) certification
- BS degree in biological science or related field
- MT/MLS with preferred ASCP certification
