Job Summary
Conduct accurate and timely testing of waived and non-waived tests according to CLIA '88, JCAHO, CAP, and OSHA regulations. Collect, receive, and process biological specimens while ensuring correct patient identification and specimen integrity. Monitor abnormal patient and QC results, troubleshoot instrumentation startup and calibration, and document deviations from defined procedures. Manage inventory, control supplies, and contribute to financial performance improvements and department projects. Train new employees, participate in staff meetings, and act as a department resource for internal and external customers. Work night shift in Sun City West, Arizona, with a base pay starting at $28.06 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science
- MLS or categorical certification
- detailed credential evaluation from IERF or other nationally recognized credentialing agency
- Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy
- Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in Toxicology, HLA, HCTT
- Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science
- Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489
- Meet other criteria defined in 42CFR493.1489 or 42CFR493.1491
- US military medical laboratory procedures training courses
- certification throughout their time in position (for Nevada or California)
Desired Qualifications
- MLS/MT or categorical certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB)
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements
- knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing
- Additional related education and/or experience
- MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB)
