Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) organizes and provides diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and serology; maintains quality standards and accurately reports test results.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Advanced knowledge in quality control, proficiency testing, workload reporting systems and program documentation
- Willing and able to perform specimen collection: venipuncture, capillary, urine, etc.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Knowledge of HIPAA and Privacy Act
- Ability to read and understand federal regulations, Osage Nation policies and procedures, and state and accrediting agencies requirements and standards
- Thorough professional knowledge of standard medical technology concepts & principles
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Must be willing and able to stand for long periods
- Good visual acuity for microscopic examinations
- Professional attitude and appearance; high integrity and ethics
- Problem-solving skills
- Basic Life Support certified or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Criminal background check
- Drug/alcohol testing
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (may be required to drive)
