Job Summary
Perform, review, and interpret complex chemical, hematological, coagulation, renal, lipid, and hormonal analyses using manual, automated, and microscopic methods. Integrate analytical results with clinical trial protocols to evaluate subject eligibility for research programs. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while evaluating reagents and quality control standards to ensure accuracy. Assist with administrative duties and design new procedures based on comparison studies for precision and linearity. Provide instruction to new employees and students, serving as a mentor by guiding team members and reviewing their work. Work 10-hour shifts in a laboratory setting requiring PPE, with occasional travel within the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from NAACLS accredited college and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Board certified or eligible
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years)
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to retain knowledge in various laboratory units and train new employees
- Ability to adapt to changes in workflow, unusual circumstances, and high pressure and time sensitive environments
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
- Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves
