Job Summary
Medical Lab Scientist-Molecular Pathology responsible for executing prompt, efficient, and accurate laboratory test performance, validation, and reporting used for prognosis, diagnosis, treatment, and research; maintain documentation for quality control and compliance; assist with equipment setup, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting; participate in inventory planning and manual updates; ensure compliance with hospital standards and accrediting requirements; maintain regular attendance; requires a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology/MLT or related sciences and certification as MLS/MT within six months of hire; relevant ASCP/AMT/NRCC/ABB/ASCPi credentials and licensure considerations apply; compensation range is provided as hourly wages converted to annualized salaries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology/medical laboratory science or in one of the biological, chemical or physical sciences
- completion of a medical laboratory training program
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist from an approved accrediting organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT, NRCC, ABB, ASCPi) within six (6) months of hire if not licensed in Tennessee as a medical laboratory professional
