Job Summary
Perform analytical tests on biological specimens, including blood, tissues, and other body samples, in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner while ensuring patient safety and anonymity. Determine specimen acceptability through visual inspections or by recognizing abnormal results, and execute quality control procedures to meet established ranges before releasing patient data. Maintain a safe work environment by performing equipment checks, monitoring temperatures, cleaning work areas, and troubleshooting laboratory issues per documented protocols. Work evening and night shifts in a fast-paced setting, engaging professionally with staff and patients. Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field with MLS certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in one of the following: Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program
- MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency
