Job Summary
Perform analytical tests on biological specimens, including blood, tissues, and other body samples, in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner while complying with documented laboratory procedures. Determine specimen acceptability through visual inspections or by recognizing abnormal results, and recognize factors affecting measurements by taking appropriate action according to protocols. Execute quality control for all testing to ensure results meet established ranges before release, maintain a safe work environment through equipment checks and temperature monitoring, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed. Provide physicians with quality results using various clinical laboratory equipment while guaranteeing complete patient safety and anonymity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved program
- MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency
