Job Summary
Medical Lab Scientist/MLS to perform a wide range of laboratory tests (Hemotology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Transfusion) with focus on accurate results through quality control, proficiency testing, calibrations, and data review. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, recording and reporting data, maintaining a safe/sterile environment, troubleshooting instruments, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and care decisions. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science, MLS/MT certification (or eligibility to sit for the BOC with completion within 6 months), ASCP certification or equivalent, BLS, and ability to work a shift that may include weekends/holidays/nights/on-call. Location: Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital, St George, Utah; Schedule: 6:00am-4:30pm, Wednesday-Saturday; Sign-On Bonus up to $2,500.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or chemical, physical, biological, or equivalent.
- Completion of coursework and internship in a qualified MLS program and eligibility to sit for the BOC; Certification must be completed and documented within 6 months of hire to remain in the registered MLS role.
- ASCP (or equivalent) certification as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist; certification must be maintained to remain in job.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call; Montana applicants must have state licensure or temporary state licensure; foreign applicants must submit foreign transcript evaluation; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification where required.
