Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of an assigned shift or department, performing general testing within the analytical core laboratory including transfusion services. Apply advanced technical expertise to department testing and clinical relevance while serving as a liaison with other laboratory departments and hospital services. Perform phlebotomy and specimen management duties in a self-directed manner. Execute waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens adhering to Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct required calibration and quality control procedures, perform maintenance and troubleshooting on major automated equipment, and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, TJC, and OSHA regulations. Communicate professionally with physicians, hospital staff, patients, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical or Biological Science
- Two (2) years of relevant laboratory work experience
- MLS with ASCP certification, or MT with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification, or specialty ASCP certification
