Job Summary
Process patient specimens for oncology therapeutic testing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, shipping, and slide preparation. Collect samples, register patients, and verify test orders while maintaining accurate computerized records and specimen tracking. Troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and manage supply levels. Uphold safety protocols, infection control, and universal precautions during all procedures. Resolve outstanding specimens, initiate interventions for unacceptable samples, and escalate issues to supervisors. Train new staff, assist technicians, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- four years of experience
- Degree in Biology, Science or related major
- 20-50 lbs
- 0-33% of the work day (occasionally)
- 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently)
- 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly)
- Lifting 50 lbs max
- Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking
- Occasional sitting
- Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Biology, Science or related major may be considered in lieu of experience
