Job Summary
Collect and receive laboratory specimens for testing, verify proper patient preparation, and ensure standard precautions and personal protective equipment are utilized. Enter patient and test information into the computer, respond to customer requests, and serve as the laboratory's main communication and customer relations center. Perform clerical assistance for billing, troubleshooting, data gathering, and verification of lab orders and labels while maintaining effective communication between the laboratory, clinical services, and physicians. Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma General or GED General or Associates Other-Preferred
- BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
- ASCP, AMT, NHA, NCCT, ABB, NPA or Eligible for certification by an agency recognized by the Georgia Department of Community Health within 6 months of hire. within 180 Days Required
Desired Qualifications
- Associates' Degree in Science/Laboratory related field. Preferred
