Job Summary
Medical Interpreter I (Albanian) provides interpretation of consent forms, diagnoses, discharge plans, and other patient-related information across in-person, video, or telephonic modalities within Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston. Responsibilities include arriving on time for appointments, maintaining accurate records, following interpreter ethics and standards of practice, handling complex medical terminology, and coordinating with Interpreter Services staff. Requires bachelor’s degree (preferred), 1 year interpreting experience, fluency in English and Albanian, and a medical interpreter training certificate; national certification preferred. Per diem role based in Boston area with on-site responsibilities and potential for remote modalities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in a human relations field (i.e., Sociology, Psychology) preferred.
- 1 year of experience working as a medical interpreter required.
- Must be fluent, both verbal and written, in English and target language.
- Certificate of completion of medical interpreter training program required.
- National Certification preferred.
