Job Summary
Perform ultrasound examinations of human patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury, including obstetrical, extremities, transvaginal, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) studies. Explain the examination process to patients and conduct training for personnel in ultrasound principles, procedures, capabilities, techniques, and equipment operation. Perform operator-level maintenance and care of ultrasound diagnostic equipment. Work independently at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC, as a Medical Instrument Technician (Ultrasound).
Required Qualifications
- US Citizens
- One year of specialized experience performing a variety of ultrasound examinations of human patients such obstetrical, extremities, transvaginal, and/or deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- One year of specialized experience setting up, adjusting, or maintaining ultrasound diagnostic equipment
- One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Sonography or Radiology
- A combination of education and experience that equals at least 100% of the requirements (computed by dividing total months of experience by 12 and adding the percentage of graduate semester hours beyond the first year divided by 9)
