Job Summary

Conduct high-quality MRI procedures for patients and physicians in a safe, clean environment while checking identification and verifying physician orders. Ask patients about medical history, including implants or pacemakers, and communicate clearly to ensure comfort and explain the study. Follow all safety procedures, stop immediately if a patient becomes claustrophobic or requests termination, and maintain patient dignity by ensuring proper coverage. Transport patients from wheelchairs or stretchers to the table, lift up to 20 pounds, and assist with equipment manipulation. Communicate potential problems to improve care, facilitate specialty radiology reads for urgent exams, and volunteer for overtime or fill-in shifts during short staff or high census. Complete all scans ordered or scheduled during your shift while demonstrating emotional stability and making appropriate decisions in emergency situations.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved program, accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and be registered or working toward certification in the subspecialty of MRI; or hold current ARMRIT certification
  • Must be in compliance with CE Requirements
  • BLS is required within 90 days of hire
  • Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
  • Must be willing to take call on weekends and at other times as deemed necessary

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference of at least one year of work experience in hospital environment working in MRI after graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train
