Job Summary
Conduct high-quality MRI procedures for patients and physicians in a safe, clean environment while strictly adhering to safety protocols and universal precautions. Check patient identification, review physician orders, and screen medical history for implants or pacemakers before initiating studies. Assist in moving patients between wheelchairs, stretchers, and tables, lifting up to 20 pounds, and monitor for signs of claustrophobia or discomfort during imaging. Communicate regularly with patients to ensure comfort and facilitate specialty radiology reads for urgent exams. Maintain dignity by ensuring proper patient coverage throughout the exam and transport. Complete all scans ordered or scheduled during your shift, volunteering for overtime and fill-in duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARRT approved program, accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and be registered or working toward certification in the subspecialty of MRI
- Hold current ARMRT certification
- Must be in compliance with CE Requirements
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire
- Possesses the ability to physically manipulate and operate equipment
- Possesses the ability to assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table
- Possesses the ability to bend, twist, stoop
- Possesses the ability to lift 20 pounds
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations
- Demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
- Must be willing to take call on weekends and at other times as deemed necessary
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of work experience in hospital environment working in MRI after graduation and accreditation
