Job Summary

Conduct high-quality MRI procedures for patients and physicians while maintaining a safe, clean environment. Check patient identification and physician orders before proceeding, screen medical history for implants or pacemakers, and communicate clearly to ensure patient comfort and understanding. Assist in moving patients between wheelchairs, stretchers, and tables, lifting up to 20 pounds, and stop procedures immediately if claustrophobia, warmth, or patient discomfort occurs. Maintain patient dignity through proper coverage during exams and transport, and facilitate specialty radiology reads for urgent exams when needed. Complete all scans ordered or scheduled during shifts, volunteer for overtime or fill-in periods, and communicate potential quality improvements to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved program, accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and be registered or working toward certification in the subspecialty of MRI; or hold current ARMRIT certification
  • Must be in compliance with CE Requirements
  • BLS is required within 90 days of hire
  • Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations
  • Demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
  • Must be willing to take call on weekends and at other times as deemed necessary

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference of at least one year of work experience in hospital environment working in MRI after graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train
