Job Summary
Conduct high-quality MRI procedures for patients and physicians in a safe, clean environment while verifying orders, checking patient identification, and screening for implants or pacemakers. Assist in moving patients between wheelchairs, stretchers, and tables, ensuring proper coverage and monitoring for claustrophobia or equipment warmth. Communicate regularly during scans to enhance patient comfort and promptly terminate procedures if safety concerns arise. Complete all scheduled scans, facilitate specialty radiology reads for urgent exams, and volunteer for overtime or fill-in shifts as needed. Maintain dignity and emotional stability while interacting with patients, families, and staff throughout the weekend schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARRT approved program, accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and be registered or working toward certification in the subspecialty of MRI; or hold current ARMRIT certification
- Must be in compliance with CE Requirements
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire
- Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations
- Demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
- Must be willing to take call on weekends and at other times as deemed necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Preference of at least one year of work experience in hospital environment working in MRI after graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train
