Job Summary
Conduct high-quality MRI procedures for patients and physicians in a safe, clean environment while ensuring patient identification accuracy and verifying medical history for implants or pacemakers. Assist in moving patients between wheelchairs, stretchers, and tables; lift up to 20 pounds; and communicate clearly to ensure patient comfort and explain study procedures. Monitor patients during exams to address claustrophobia, warmth, or termination requests immediately, and facilitate specialty radiology reads for urgent exams when needed. Maintain dignity by ensuring proper patient coverage and follow all safety protocols. Work weekends from Friday 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with call availability as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARRT approved program, accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and be registered or working toward certification in the subspecialty of MRI; or hold current ARMRT certification
- Must be in compliance with CE Requirements
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire
- Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
- Must be willing to take call on weekends and at other times as deemed necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Preference of at least one year of work experience in hospital environment working in MRI after graduation and accreditation
