Job Summary
Conduct high-quality CT imaging procedures for patients and physicians in a safe, clean environment while strictly adhering to radiation safety and ALARA protocols. Verify patient identification and physician orders before each study, screen female patients aged 12-50 for pregnancy, and document contrast allergies and medical histories. Assist in moving patients between wheelchairs, stretchers, and tables, ensuring proper coverage and comfort throughout exams and transport. Demonstrate emotional stability and make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations. Maintain dignity by ensuring patient privacy and cover patients at all times. Monitor waiting hallways for patient comfort and pain management needs. Collaborate with team members to maximize equipment efficiency and complete physician requests promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Compliance with CE Requirements
- Registration in the subspecialty of CT or registry eligibility with ability to pass CT registry within 6 months of hire date
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to physically manipulate and operate equipment
- Ability to assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations
- Emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow workers, patients, their families, and physicians
- Willingness to take call for STAT, Urgent, or Routine studies after hours and on weekends when needed
Desired Qualifications
- One year work experience in hospital environment working in CT after graduation and accreditation
- Experience working with GE CT equipment
