Medical Historian Position- Part Time Evening shifts (20 hours)

Job Summary
Screen new and repeat donors, take and record vital signs and finger stick results, and perform phlebotomy while answering phones and greeting donors at a plasma center. Maintain accurate records using the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, and coordinate donor compensation. Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate process changes using approved procedures. Work evening shifts, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays with most shifts lasting 4 to 6 hours, 3+ days per week. Report to the Plasma Center Manager and adhere to safety protocols regarding bloodborne pathogens.
Required Qualifications
- California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 License (CPT1)
- California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 License (CPT2)
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS)
- California Medical Laboratory Technician License (MLT)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
- Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
- Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
- Current license or certification in the state where duties will be assigned: Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1), Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 (CPT2), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Ability to answer phones
- Ability to greet and focus on donors
- Ability to ensure the safety of donors and the team
- Ability to screen new and repeat donors
- Ability to take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results
- Ability to use the Donor Information System
- Ability to prepare donor charts
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to coordinate donor compensation
- Ability to help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ability to initiate changes to center processes using company approved procedures
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays
- Ability to work with prolonged glove wear (90% of work tasks)
- Ability to work in a bloodborne pathogens environment (risk level 1)
