Job Summary
Cleans, disinfects, calibrates, and prepares medical equipment, devices, and accessories for safe redistribution following manufacturer and hospital guidelines. Coordinates with Clinical Engineering for performance checks, documents equipment status, and ensures proper storage using first-in, first-out methods. Delivers and retrieves medical equipment across the facility, collects soiled items for reprocessing, and supports efficient equipment flow. Monitors inventory levels based on periodic automatic replenishment standards and submits orders when stock is low. Responds to units for assistance with non-functioning equipment and safety check requests, including after-hours support. Corrects identified issues and verifies preventative maintenance completion. This seasonal role requires the seasonal influenza vaccine and willingness to receive MMR, varicella, and Tdap vaccinations.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- No Experience necessary
- On-the-Job Training
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella)
- Evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Supply of immunization records as proof of vaccination
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with fellow employees, patients, parents and visitors
- Pass a personal interview
- Formal education and training
- Previous work experience
- Provide references
- Pass a criminal background investigation
- Pass a drug screen
- Work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations
