Job Summary
Medical Editor responsible for ensuring overall editorial quality of communications by providing medical editing for accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, and style. Duties include fact-checking, substantively editing, proofreading promotional materials, annotating for client medical/legal/regulatory review, attending reviews, checking layouts against manuscripts and client-approved files, maintaining style guides, obtaining necessary copyright permissions, and collaborating with Editorial, Medical, and Creative Services to ensure high-quality deliverables. Requires independence, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems. Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of pharmaceutical/medical editing experience are required; visa sponsorship is not available. Remote work option available; location shown as West Chester, PA, US for informational purposes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (science or English degrees preferred)
- 3-5 years’ pharmaceutical/medical editing experience
- 2 years’ experience specifically working as an editor for a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical company marketing department (preferred)
- Familiarity with AMA Manual of Style and agency standards
