Job Summary
Designs treatment plans by means of computer planning systems and/or manual computation to deliver a prescribed radiation dose; designs field placement techniques per Radiation Oncologist's prescription to a defined tumor volume; supports treatment simulations and tumor localization on CT, MRI, and PET; plans and fabricates immobilization devices, compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam-modifying devices; supports therapist staff in implementation of the treatment plan; documents all pertinent information in the patient record and verifies calculations; teaches dosimetry concepts to students/residents; participates in clinical research for new techniques; 36-hour full-time role at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Medical Dosimetry by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- One year of treatment planning experience
