Job Summary
Conduct ambulatory and hospital perinatal consults, ultrasounds, and fetal echo evaluations for women and infants. Manage 24-hour academic OB program coverage with shared call rotation and resident teaching responsibilities. Examine patients, prescribe treatments, and interpret diagnostic tests to diagnose and treat complex medical issues. Order and analyze records to guide decision-making on treatment options for high-risk prenatal, childbirth, and postnatal care. Monitor patient conditions and progress while participating in community activities and medical outreach programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Doctor of Medicine (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine
- Residency and/or Fellowship training within specialty
- BC/BE in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine
- 5 years of independent practice experience highly preferred
- Must have current Texas Medical License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Unrestricted DEA
- Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes
- Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills
- Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach programs
- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior
- A commitment to medical education, including teaching and training medical and graduate students, house staff, and fellows
- A commitment to lead and support efforts to enhance the climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects
Desired Qualifications
- Fetal Echo experience preferred
