Job Summary
Medical Doctor (MD/DO) to support facilities in Merced, California and/or nearby locations in skilled nursing and assisted living settings, focusing on post-acute and long-term care. Part-time per diem (roughly 2–4 shifts per month) in a hybrid model combining in-person care with remote patient monitoring. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations, developing and managing treatment plans with supervising physicians, reviewing and interpreting laboratory results, educating patients and families on health management, documenting care in EMR, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting ongoing monitoring and follow-up. Qualifications require an active CA MD/DO license, experience in post-acute or primary care settings preferred, strong clinical judgment and communication skills, EMR familiarity, and ability to work both independently and with a care team.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted MD/DO license in California
- Experience in post-acute, primary care, or related clinical settings preferred; open to candidates with strong clinical training and interest in learning
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with EMR systems and comfort with telehealth or remote patient monitoring (preferred)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a care team
