Job Summary
Faculty attending physician role in UPMC Altoona Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. Responsibilities include contributing to inpatient and outpatient palliative care services, teaching and mentoring residents and fellows, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, supporting residency geriatrics rotations, and providing coverage across affiliated hospitals and nursing homes. Strong emphasis on academic medicine, ongoing education, and program development within a university-affiliated, rural-oriented fellowship with a track record of comprehensive hands-on training and high board exam pass rates.
Required Qualifications
- ABFM or AOBFP board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with board eligibility or board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Desired Qualifications
- ABFM or AOBFP board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with board eligibility or board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- academic medicine experience preferred but not required
- teaching and mentorship of residents and fellows
- clinical experience in inpatient, outpatient palliative care, and long-term care settings
- familiarity with geriatric rotations and resident education
