Job Summary
Coordinate medical care to ensure residents receive appropriate physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being while overseeing licensed practitioners within regulatory requirements. Meet with department directors regarding resident population needs and assist in planning medical and nursing programs with the Administrator and Director of Nursing. Provide rotating on-call services and availability in crisis scenarios, working beyond normal hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary. This role requires a current unencumbered MD or DO license and knowledge of clinical geriatrics and nursing facility regulations. Required Qualifications
- Must possess a current unencumbered active license to practice as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy in the state.
- Must be knowledgeable of clinical geriatrics and nursing facility medical practices.
- Must be knowledgeable of the rules and regulations governing medical and nursing services in nursing care facilities.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited college of medicine.
- Physician with a current North Carolina license to practice medicine.
