Job Summary
Medical Director for Endocrinology and Oncology drives clinical strategy and trial design, serves as the primary medical authority for the clinical development program, provides patient safety oversight, and leads cross-functional efforts with Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs. Responsibilities include medical monitoring of trials, safety signal detection and escalation, regulatory document authoring/review, lifecycle planning, and representation in scientific/patient advocacy forums. Must hold a medical degree (MD or DO) with 3+ years in clinical/pharmaceutical settings; experience leading teams in direct/matrixed environments; and proficiency with AI tools and MS Office. Remote work option within the United States with up to 35% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree such as MD or DO with 3 or more years of relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Three or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with exposure to clinical development activities.
- Led cross-functional teams that contribute to the achievement of therapeutic project team objectives.
- Proven ability to lead and manage team members in direct and matrixed reporting environments.
- Demonstrated expertise and comfort utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity, analysis, and content development
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including document formatting, data analysis, and executive-level presentations
- Strong ability to conduct comprehensive literature searches, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable outputs
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently with strong ownership, accountability, and sound judgment
- Effective collaborator within cross functional and matrixed team environments
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations, with the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and drive clarity
- Preferred three or more years of clinical development experience.
- Recent clinical experience with training and advanced disease state expertise in Oncology or Endocrinology, including familiarity with current standards of care and evolving therapeutic strategies.
