Job Summary
Part-time Medical Director to provide 24-hour management of medical and psychiatric services at the IAFF Center of Excellence facility. Oversees medical staff, detoxification protocols, Medication Assisted Therapy, and documentation within the electronic health record; ensures compliance with Joint Commission and ASAM criteria. Develops written objectives, policies, and a quality assurance program; assists in budget planning for medical services; supports medical staff in achieving performance metrics such as timely records and outcomes. Requires MD or DO, Board Certification in Psychiatry, and DEA license; ABPM- Addiction Medicine certification is a nice to have. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience and state licensing are required. On-call responsibilities apply, with proximity required within one hour of the facility. Onsite presence at the Upper Marlboro, MD location is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited medical school
- Licensed to practice medicine (MD or DO) in the appropriate state
- Board Certification in Psychiatry
- DEA license to prescribe controlled medications
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards
- Familiarity with ASAM Criteria
- Experience in addiction medicine
