Job Summary
Oversee all medical and clinical aspects of behavioral health services in North Carolina, directing psychiatric nurse practitioners and nursing teams. Identify evidence-based therapies, coordinate mental health and substance abuse services with primary care providers, and manage clinical implications for individual physical healthcare needs. Provide direct services including medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and review of medications with primary care physicians. Supervise other medical directors and nurse practitioners while ensuring staff delivery meets Medicaid and CSEUC standards. Maintain full-time status with a minimum of 16 hours per week to serve 50 individuals, working seven days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Psychiatrist, Board Certified MD/DO
- Physician with ASAM or ABAM Certification
- Must have a current BLS and DEA Certification with no restrictions
- Licensed MD/DO- Board Certified or board eligible in General Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics: with two or more years of direct service – with experience diagnosing, treating, and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment of the population served
- North Carolina Board Certified Psychiatrist
- Must participate in DMH/DD/SAS approved ACTT training with 90 days of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Prior experience leading other medical professionals
