Job Summary
Medical Director position at Ohana Pet Hospital in Santa Paula. Lead our Santa Paula team within a multi-location AAHA-accredited, progressive companion-animal general practice. Responsibilities include overseeing general medicine and surgery, urgent care, ultrasonography, dentistry, rehabilitation, and teaching staff while maintaining a strong client-service focus. Ideal candidate has 5+ years of general practice and/or emergency experience, proven leadership, and can provide excellent client communication. Requires California veterinary license and ability to obtain a DEA license. Full-time with flexible scheduling (Mon-Sat, roughly 3–4 shifts/week) and relocation assistance plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California veterinary license
- Ability to obtain a DEA license
- 5+ years of general practice and/or emergency receiving experience
- Exceptional leadership skills with prior Medical Director experience a plus
- Excellent client communication and customer service skills
- Commitment to lifelong learning and staying on top of industry developments/tools
