Job Summary
Medical Director of Convenient Care Practices providing clinical, operational, and strategic leadership across Rhode Island Convenient Care services; combines direct patient care with leadership, workforce development, quality improvement, and strategic planning to improve access and equity. This role serves as the primary clinical leader for Convenient Care providers, partnering with executive leaders and multidisciplinary teams to optimize workflows, enhance provider performance, and advance innovative care delivery models in alignment with Thundermist Health Center’s mission to serve diverse, underserved communities. The position involves leading clinical governance, provider development, performance improvement initiatives, and ongoing collaboration across ambulatory operations, with a schedule of 40 hours per week including regular on-site coverage at multiple locations and a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Current unrestricted Rhode Island license
- Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner strongly preferred; other Advanced Practice Providers with equivalent clinical and leadership experience will be considered
- Minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, convenient care, emergency medicine, or related ambulatory setting
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing providers, programs, projects, teams, or clinical operations
- Strong knowledge of ambulatory clinical operations, quality improvement, access management, and patient-centered care delivery
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to mentor providers and influence organizational initiatives
- Commitment to health equity, community health, and delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care to diverse and underserved populations
