Job Summary
Conduct rounds in medical and infirmary units, perform sick call visits, and manage chronic care for patients while responding to medical emergencies. Lead efforts to evaluate healthcare service quality, coordinate educational and training activities, and supervise staff physicians. Ensure compliance with State, Federal, and court mandates, and collaborate with medical professionals to address diverse patient needs, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues. Maintain valid licensure, DEA registration, and Board certification in Family or Internal Medicine.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Valid license as a physician in the state where the facility is located in AL
- Possess a current DEA registration
- Currently certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Family or Internal Medicine
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
