Job Summary
Medical Director for Longleaf Lodge in Sterrett, AL, providing clinical and administrative leadership across a 10-bed ASAM Level 3.7 Medical Detoxification unit and a 50-bed ASAM Level 3.5 Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential program. Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with addiction medicine experience; oversee MAT (buprenorphine, naltrexone, methadone referrals), supervise NPs/PAs, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, ensure regulatory compliance (APMP, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, DEA), and provide weekend coverage via telehealth or in-person. Role may be full-time or part-time with W-2 preferred but 1099 considered. Requires MD/DO, Alabama license, DEA, and minimum 3 years in SUD/addiction medicine; strong emphasis on trauma-informed, person-centered, recovery-oriented care and collaboration with senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Current, unrestricted Alabama medical license
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM)
- Current DEA registration with Schedule II–V prescribing authority
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in SUD/addiction medicine
- Experience supervising Advanced Practice Providers
- Current BLS/ACLS certification
