Medical Director - Hospice Care

Job Summary
Provide medical oversight and direction for all hospice clinical services, including reviewing and certifying terminal prognosis and eligibility determinations. Conduct physician-level assessments for complex cases, symptom management, and care planning while partnering with Nurse Practitioners to align clinical findings with certifying statements. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized plans of care and lead quality improvement initiatives focused on symptom control and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and CMS hospice regulations, including timely completion of physician certification statements. Serve as a clinical liaison with attending physicians and specialists, representing the program professionally within the community. Requires an MD or DO with a current New Mexico license and 2–3 years of relevant clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Current and unrestricted New Mexico medical license
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant clinical experience

- Understanding of hospice regulations, Medicare requirements, and clinical documentation standards
