Job Summary
Medical Director will provide scientific and clinical leadership across global medical affairs activities within lung cancer, setting the medical strategy including evidence generation, data analysis and interpretation, publications, scientific communications, medical training, medical information, and support for payer/market access evidence generation and publications. The role collaborates with global medical capabilities, oncology project management, MSL teams, commercial, clinical development, access and reimbursement, patient advocacy, and regional/local medical leads; accountable for developing and executing medical strategy and tactics, advancing external collaborations with healthcare practitioners (oncologists, pathologists, surgeons), research groups, payers, and patient advocacy groups; lead cross-regional alignment on medical strategy, provide medical input into clinical development, and contribute to asset strategy, publication plans, and global advisory boards; lead or support evidence generation for Phase 3B/4 studies focusing on lung cancer, biomarker/diagnostic considerations; oversee or participate in Investigator Initiated Studies (IISR); support training, congress planning, and company-sponsored symposia; foster relationships with global cancer research organizations, key opinion leaders, and LOCs; represent Takeda Oncology at external engagements and manage cross-functional collaborations across regions and functions.
Required Qualifications
- MD, PharmD or PhD required
- 7+ years post-doctorate healthcare or related experience
- 5+ years Medical Affairs experience or related industry experience with launch experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical industry dynamics and trends
- Experience in oncology and/or hematology-oncology preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex matrix environments
- Ability to drive decision-making within multi-disciplinary, multi-regional, matrix teams
- Experience working collaboratively across functions
- Advanced PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Travel up to 25% domestic and international
