Job Summary
Conduct high-quality, patient-centered primary care services by rounding on residents in skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation units. Manage daily resident care through collaboration with Nurse Practitioners, oversee clinical care plans, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Participate in monthly quality assurance and regulatory meetings, guide facility staff on quality improvement initiatives, and attend quarterly staff meetings. Provide administrative and billing/coding oversight while maintaining a valid medical license and Certified Medical Director Certification in Maryland. This on-site role supports the HealthDrive medical staff in delivering comprehensive care to the geriatric and Medicare population.
Required Qualifications
- Valid medical license in the state of practice
- Certified Medical Director Certification in the state of Maryland
- Valid DEA/Controlled Substance License in the state of practice
- Completed a valid U.S. residency program
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with on-site staff
- Effective communication skills with the geriatric or Medicare population
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to use email, the internet, and to learn other healthcare related software
- Must be able to move inside a facility frequently and walk briskly in order to see patients, meet with managers/facility staff and attend to patient needs
- Ability to document in an EMR system on a laptop computer
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a facility
- Some ability to position oneself to obtain records, tools, medical equipment and other items that may be in locations that are below the knee or above the shoulder
- Effectively communicate with patients, nurse practitioners, and facility staff in English
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
