Job Summary
Medical Device Market Segment Manager responsible for defining market requirements, portfolio management, and service strategies to grow revenue in the medical device sector. Key duties include establishing and managing the product/service portfolio, collaborating with Marketing on messaging and content, representing market expertise at industry conferences, participating in trade organizations and standards bodies, identifying market trends and unmet needs, closing gaps in the portfolio, defining pricing/inventory/merchandising strategies, generating market-focused content with Marketing, recruiting new suppliers, and working with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Quality, and Operations to implement strategies. Requires 10+ years in a technical/commercial medical device role, a technical BA/BS, ability to read technical drawings/regulatory docs, GMP experience, willingness to travel (10-25%), and strong business acumen with entrepreneurial spirit. Reports to the Vice President of Business Development and New Markets.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline (preferably chemical, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, or biological sciences; advanced degree a plus)
- 10+ years’ experience in a technical/commercial role in the medical device industry
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, regulatory documents, and standards
- Experience in medical device design and development; GMP experience a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Willingness to travel as needed
