Job Summary
Review shipping notices and orders to determine priorities and shipping methods required to meet scheduled deadlines. Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and other customers, then inspect and evaluate blood products to ensure they are safe, pure, and potent. Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or other transportation agencies, while also running errands, delivering documents, and transporting small items as needed. Assist the Hospital Services Team Leader with resolving problems in a timely manner according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures. Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers. This full-time position in Brooksville, FL, requires a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call hours. Starting salary is $14.50 - $15.95 an hour. LifeSouth serves more than 150 hospitals across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
- Must be able to work a varied schedule
- Some night, weekend and on-call hours are required
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to do basic math, including addition, subtraction, proportion, percentages, etc.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, grasping and repetitive motion
- Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting
