Medical Coordinator

Job Summary
Answer incoming calls using approved scripting, register new patients, and verify insurance eligibility before scheduling surgical procedures. Coordinate pre-certifications with carriers, manage provider orders through completion, and monitor pending results to notify staff of delays. Process faxes, maintain documentation logs, and provide coverage for the Surgical Coordinator as needed. Ensure accurate scheduling, insurance verification, and care coordination to support provider productivity and regulatory compliance. This role reinforces standardized practices within the multi-specialty surgical clinic to ensure operational reliability and patient satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in medical scheduling, registration, or referral coordination
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance processes, including verification and authorization requirements
- Proficiency in EMR systems, patient portals, and office communication tools
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
